The DS 202 is a dual-stage oil-sealed rotary vane pump that delivers a pumping speed of 8.3 m³/hr at 50 Hz, or 5.8 CFM at 60 Hz, and a base pressure of < 2 x 10^-3 mbar. The DS 202 has a low sound pressure, and has a universal voltage single-phase electric motor, with integral power switch.

An inlet isolation valve is integrated into the pump to close off the inlet port whenever power to the pump is interrupted. This antibackstream valve retains vacuum in the roughing, or foreline, and prevents pump oil from contaminating the vacuum chamber. The DS 202 has a manual gas ballast valve, which when opened, allows the pump to achieve its rated water vapor handling specification.

Dual Stage design allows low 10^-3 mbar operation, low operating temperature, minimal backstreaming at low pressure, good pumping efficiency and gas ballast in the low 10^-2 mbar region
Worldwide motor available as 1-phase, is suitable for all voltages and frequencies worldwide. Operational voltages are easily selectable, allowing greater flexibility, easy planning and inventory reduction
The antibackstream valve and vent device isolates the pump should it stop or be idle, it also prevents inadequate venting and oil contamination of the vacuum system when the pump is switched off, or in case of power fail
Socket type IEC320 permits use of standard power cable and eliminates the need to open box and wire the motor
Gas ballast valve, when opened, injects dry air into the second stage of the pump, this action increases the temperature of the module which facilitates the outgassing and clean up of water vapor or other condensable gases from the oil
